Secretary of State for Housing says she does not have a real estate company: “Statement is not only false but also defamatory”

The Secretary of State for Housing, Patrícia Gonçalves Costa, reacted to the information revealed by the Left Bloc, which indicated that she was one of the government officials with real estate companies and accused Mariana Mortágua's statement of being “false” and defamatory”.
“The statement by the coordinator of the Left Bloc, Mariana Mortágua, accusing me of owning real estate companies is not only false but also defamatory ,” he wrote in a statement.
The minister says that she is an architect and “throughout my life” she has had several experiences related to the area of training, “which naturally included the real estate sector”. “I ceased my management functions at PromoBuilding -Serviços Imobiliários LDA on 21-08-2015, having ceased my participation in the aforementioned company on 12-01-2019, that is, more than five years ago (according to the permanent certificate of the commercial registry that can be consulted)”, added the Secretary of State.
“In politics, not everything goes, and not everything can go. I work every day for the common good, putting my knowledge and experience at the service of defending the public interest. I always do so with respect for my convictions and my status as Secretary of State, architect, woman and mother. I do so with the humility of someone who serves a greater cause, but always with the honour of someone who has nothing to hide”, added Patrícia Gonçalves Costa.
